Lon W. Smith was born May 5, 1878 and departed this life at 12:30 p.m. October 22. His age at death was 80 years, 5 months and 17 days.

He and Maude Bray were united in marriage March 24, 1901, Maude preceding him in death June 4, 1950, at the age of 68 years, 9 months and 4 days. Both were life long members of the Church of Christ.

There were nine children born to this union but due to ill health some of the children were unable to be here. There were six boys and three girls of the family. The boys are Amyl, now of San Jose, Calif., Herbert of Bonham, Tex., Floice of Indianapolis, Ind., Curtis of Alameda, Calif., Leo of VA Hospital, Little Rock and Wilbur of Wenatchee, Wash. The girls are Beatrice Downs, Elsie Raines and Verlene Parker all of Wenatchee, Wash. He leaves 24 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. The surviving brothers and sisters are Millard of Olvstee, Okla., Ben of Batesville and Annie of Oxford, and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his loss. We trust that our loss is heaven’s gain.
