Red N. Smith of Mountain Home died Tuesday (April 15, 1997) at Baxter County Regional Hospital. He was 90.
Mr Smith was born in Oxford on Feb 7, 1907 to Wiley F. and Alice Ferguson Smith. A former lake ranger for the City of Oklahoma City, he moved her in 1975.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He marred Bertha Moss on Jan 1, 1990 in Mountain Home. He was a member of College and North Street Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, at home; two sons, Robert Smith of Bonaire, Ga. And Wiley Smith of Yukon, Okla.; a daughter, Mary Horn of San Gabriel, Calif.; a stepson, Robert Rowden of Eminence, Mo.; a stepdaughter, Rayo Breckenridge of Paragould; a sister, Velma J. Walker of Mountain Home; a stepsister, Imogene Beyers of Little Rock; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and first wife Betty.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. today at Kirby Funeral Home. Brother Bill Dillon will officiate at the funeral at 10 a.m. Friday at Kirby Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Oxford Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
Arrangements are by Kirby Funeral Home.
