DAVIS, Martha Jane MILLER - [from Pleasant Ridge} Mrs. C.R. Davis died at 2:30 a.m. November 24, 1921 at the family home, of cancer, aged 55 years, one month and 26 days. Her maiden name was Martha Jane Miller and she was born in Illinois on September 30, 1866. To Mr. and Mrs. Davis were born eight children, four girls and four boys, all of whom are living and all of whom were at home before their mother died. Six of the children are married. She was always kind but outspoken and firm in defending her belief and making known her convictions. Mrs. Davis was a devoted wife and mother and a good neighbor. She will be greatly missed in the community. To the bereaved family the entire neighborhood extends sympathy. The funeral was held at the family home at 1:30 Friday, conducted by Rev. G.W. German in the absence of Rev. Eli Myers who was at conference. A large number of relatives and friends were at the funeral. Burial was made at Stony Point.
