SILOAM SPRINGS — Walter James Davis, 85, of Siloam Springs, died Sept. 26, 2002, in Springdale. He was born Aug. 24, 1917, in Hartford to Franklin and Martha Baker Davis. He worked in the maintenance department of Allen Canning Co. He was a Baptist. He enjoyed farming, gardening and dogs. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Velva Mae Davis, in 1993.
Survivors include two sons, Cecil J. Davis of Springdale and Gerald Davis of Siloam Springs, one daughter, Marlene Gustafson of Gentry, 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Yell Cemetery near Siloam Springs with the Rev. Clark Snow officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale.
Memorials may be made to Circle of Life Hospice of Springdale.
