Mrs. Davis' death was a shock to the entire community. She had been in apparently good health, and Sunday morning, with her husband, attended services at the Community Church in Centerton. Just as the services were about to close, Mrs. Davis was stricken with apoplexy. Medical aid was summoned and as soon as she was able she was taken to her home. She died a few hours later.

The shock was so great to Mr. Davis that he collapsed and for some time is was thought that his reason was impaired. He is still suffering from a nervous breakdown, but is improving. Mr. Davis is one of the best known men in this section.

The funeral services, which were held Wednesday forenoon both at the house and at the Community Church, was one of the largest ever held in Centerton. Rev. E. L. Boyles, assisted by Rev. Mr. Keen, conducted the services. Interment was made in the Centerton cemetery.

Mrs. Nettie Davis was born in March, 1870, at the old Womack home south of Hiwasse, and now owned by Loyd Keith. She was the daughter of William and Elizabeth Womack, old pioneer settlers.

In 1886 she was married to J. T. Davis and has lived at the family home west of Centerton for 26 years. Besides her husband she is survived by four children, Orville Davis and Mrs. Everette Harrell, of Centerton, Mrs. Beulah Story, of Hope, Ark., and Everette Davis, residing in Northern California; also by three brothers, Richard and Frank Womack, of Centerton, and A. O. Womack, of Decatur; also by one sister, Mrs. Elmer Johnson of Centerton.
