JACKSON, Virginia JACKSON - In the Methodist Church, South in Bentonville, with the building filled to the fullest capacity and many standing, the friends, relatives and neighbors came last Friday afternoon to pay their last respects to Mrs. George P. Jackson, a native and resident of Bentonville, who died at her home here Wednesday night, January 5th. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. W.T. Thompson who was aided by Rev. J.A. Womack of Fayetteville, Rev. E.G. Downs of Rogers and Rev. F.G. Villines of Centerton. Interment was made in the City Cemetery immediately following the services. Mrs. Jackson, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Jackson, was born April 7, 1858 three miles south of the old Jackson homestead that is now occupied by Mrs. Em Jackson and her daughter, Miss Marie Jackson. She was 68 years of age and had lived in the vicinity of Bentonville all of her life. The Jackson family was among the earliest of the settlers in Benton county. Her grandfather, James Jackson, came here from Cane Hill in 1831 and took up and bought about 800 acres of land just west of town. Houses were few and far between, there being not over a dozen families in the county at the time. Mrs. Jackson is survived by two sons, W.E. Jackson of Bentonville and Edwin F. Jackson of Rogers and a large number of relatives.

Mrs. Virginia Jackson, wife of the late George P. Jackson, died at the family home here at 11:45 Wednesday night, aged 69 years, her death the result of a stroke of paralysis suffered within a very few hours of exactly two weeks prior to her death. Mrs. Jackson was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Jackson, among the earliest pioneers of this section, and was born on the old Jackson homestead near Bentonville, having lived here all of her life. She is survived by two sons, Edwin F. Jackson of Rogers and W.E. Jackson of Bentonville; two half-brothers, J. Mack Jackson and John T. Jackson, both of Bentonville; four grandchildren, Craig Jackson of Gentry; Mrs. Roy Elliott, Bentonville; Miss Virginia Jackson, Rogers; and William Jackson, now in Montana; also two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Methodist Episcopal Church, South, conducted by the pastor, Dr. W.T. Thompson, and possibly assisted by the Rev. Steele, former pastor. Interment will be in the Bentonville cemetery.

Mrs. Virginia Jackson, widow of the late George P. Jackson, pioneer business man of Bentonville, passed away at her home in this city Wednesday night. Mrs. Jackson had been in very good health up until December 22nd when she suffered a stroke of paralysis. Since then she had been in an unconsciousness condition most of the time but able to take nourishment. Two days ago pneumonia set in and in her weakened condition was unable to overcome it. Mrs. Jackson, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Jackson, was born April 7, 1858 three miles south of the old Jackson homestead that is now occupied by Mrs. Ern Jackson and her daughter, Miss Marie Jackson.
