Two Children Critically Burned In Home Fire At Bentonville

BENTONVILLE – Two small children were critically burned Tuesday afternoon when the converted school bus in which they lived was destroyed by fire.

In critical condition at Bates Memorial Hospital today are one-year old Paul Jackson a his w, Debbie Lynn, 2. They are the children of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Jackson.

Firemen said the children had been taken to the hospital when they arrived at the scene in the north part of town. They were unable to determine whether or not the children were alone when the flames broke out.

Cause of the fire was not immediately determined, but there was some speculation that it started from a heating stove.

Two Youngsters Die of Burns Suffered In Fire

BENTONVILLE - The two small children injured when their converted school bus home was destroyed by fire Tuesday afternoon died Wednesday at Bates Memorial Hospital.

The victims were one-year-old Paul Jackson, Jr. and his sister, Debbie Lynn, 2.

Debbie Lynn born Nov. 21, 1964 and Paul was born Nov. 26,1965

Survivors in addition to the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Jackson Sr., are one sister, Linda Kay of the home; the paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J.O. Jackson of Bentonville, Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Shirley of Stockton, Calif.; and a maternal great-grandmother, Mrs. Rodney Shirley of Bakersfield, Calif.

Double funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Free Pentecostal Church with burial in Bentonville Cemetery under direction of Burns Funeral Home.
