Mr. G.W. Jackson was born in Middle Tennessee November 24, 1835. He lived in that state twenty years, after which he moved with his father, Haley Jackson, to this state where he has resided ever since. He had lived at the home where he passed away for fifty-one years with his beloved wife, Emmaline Weatherly, whom he married in 1862. To them were born eleven children, six boys and five girls, five of which have gone before. Six are left behind with their precious mother. At the time of his death he was seventy-seven years, seven months and four days of age. Mr. Jackson was not a church member but his faith and sympathy was with them. He said there was never a day but what he prayed to his Heavenly Father and while on his bed of suffering the veil was lifted between him and the loved ones who have gone on and he called them by name and spoke of them to his heart-broken wife. He was a loving husband and father and at all times, under any and all circumstances, his one purpose was to add to the happiness and welfare of his faithful wife and children. As a neighbor he was always ready to help those who called upon him and never tired of rendering his service to them when needed. A Friend.
