FUNERAL RITES FOR MRS. W.L. HELD THIS AFTERNOON

Mrs. Wiley L. Harris, a resident of the Osage Mills community for 70 years, died at her home two miles north of Cave Springs at 9:45 p.m. Tuesday, August 11th, 1936, following an illness of six months. She was 76 years of age.

Mrs. Harris was born at Humansville, Mo., and moved wither parents to the Osage Mills community when she was six years of age. She was married to Wiley L. Harris in 1876. Mr. Harris died June 26th, 1924. She joined the Old Temperance Hill Baptist Church when a young girl and continued in active membership throughout her life.

Funeral services were are being conducted at the Vaughn Presbyterian Church, assisted by the Rev. F.A. Bradshaw of Vaughn, with burial in the Barron cemetery and the Callison Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers are Mrs. Harris’ six grandsons, Louis, Jess and Raymond Blevins, Russell and Lee Harris, and Harris Wright.

Mrs. Harris is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Pearl Blevins, Springfield, Mo., Mrs. Pete Wright, Lowell; four sons, Berlin Harris, Walter Harris and Cothel Harris, Bentonville, and Tom Harris, with whom she made her home, and 13 grandchildren. One of the granddaughters is Miss Helen Harris, who is employed here in Bentonville in the Harry S. Jackson grocery store.
