BENTONVILLE — Donald Wiley Harris, 73, of Bentonville, died Jan 13, 2009, at his home. He was born in Benton County on Jan. 20, 1935, to Thomas and Margaret Huffmaster Harris.

He was a 1952 graduate of Bentonville High School. He was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church in Cave Springs where he served as a deacon. He was most recently a member of Grace Baptist Church in Rogers. He retired after 22 years from the USDA Department of Soil Conservation.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Nelda Richards Harris, of the home; children, Ron L. Harris of Bentonville, Sheryl Barnett and husband Don of Springdale, Gary Harris and wife Terri of Houston, Texas; a sister, Zelma Givens of Springfield, Mo.; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Callison-Lough Funeral Home in Bentonville.

Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at Grace Baptist Church in Rogers. The Revs. Randy Parks and Pat Robinson. Burial will follow in Barron Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grace Baptist Church Building Fund, or to Gideons International.
