Clarence H. Smith, 70, of Goshen, died Friday, Dec. 25, 1992, at a Springdale hospital. Born Oct. 8, 1922, at Winslow, the son of Wils H. and Drettie Mae Clifton Smith, he was a lifelong resident of Northwest Arkansas and worked for the Singer Co. for 22 years as a manager and salesman. He was a member of the Northwest Arkansas Caval Cade, the Goshen, Mayfield and Hindsvllle Riding Clubs and a Protestant, attending Goshen Nazerene Church. He also served in the United States Army during World War II.
Survivors are his wife, Mary Jane Younger Smith, of the home; five sons, Jerry C. Smith, of Kiawahi Island, S.C.; Terry N. Smith, of West Fork; David C. Smith, of Wichita, Kan.; Bobby A. Smith, of Fayetteville, and Keith Smith, of Springdale; two brothers, Don Smith, of Quincy, Calif., and Ronnie Smith, of Lawton, Okla.; three sisters, Ruth Younger, of Webb City, Mo.; Gladys Russell, of Duncan, Okla., and Sue Friede of Waconda, Ill.; 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday. Dec. 29, at the Goshen Nazerene Church. Burial will be in the Goshen Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1 to 9 p.m. Monday, Dec. 28, at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association. Funeral arrangements under the direction of Nelson's Funeral Home in Fayetteville.
