Burl Chalmer Smith, 78, of Winslow died Tuesday in a Fayetteville nursing home. Born Dec. 22, 1900 at Winslow, the son of Ira and Amanda Clark Smith, he was a retired farmer.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Bertha Smith of the home; a son, Conrad of Winslow; two sisters, Mrs. Iva Kennedy of Denver, Colo. and Mrs. Effie Hayes of West Fork; two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Service will be 2 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Nelson's Funeral Home with burial in Woolsey Cemetery.

Bertha Ethel Smith, 87, of Winslow died Friday, April 8, 1994, at a Fayetteville nursing home. Born May 27, 1906, at Woolsey, a daughter of Charley and Mamie Bell Simmons Doyle she was a homemaker and a Protestant. She was a Sunday school teacher at Blackburn Community Church.

Survivors are a son, Conrad Smith of West Fork; a brother, Fred Doyle of Farmington; two grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral is 2 p.m. Monday at Nelson's Funeral Home. Burial is in Woolsey Cemetery, under the direction of Nelson's Funeral Home. Visitation is 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
