BENTONVILLE — Perry Thomas Smith, 72, of Bentonville died March 19, 2002, at his home. He was born March 31, 1929, at War Eagle Mills to Ben Joseph and Ada Wolf Smith. He moved to the area in 1958 from Wichita, Kan. He was a retired brick mason and a member of Victory Free Will Baptist Church in Springdale.

Survivors include his wife, Julia Vaughan Smith of the home, to whom he was married Jan. 5, 1952; two sons, Jerry Smith of the home and Billy Smith of Lowell; two daughters, Patricia Smith of Springdale and Betty Fagan of Parkville, Mo.; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Victory Free Will Baptist Church in Springdale with the Rev. Loy Counts officiating. Burial will be in Morriss Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Sisco Chapel in Springdale.

BENTONVILLE — Julia M. Smith, 84, of Bentonville passed away Saturday, Jan. 26, 2019, at her home. She was born June 4, 1934, in Hindsville, Ark., to Napoleon and Bonnie Morris Vaughn.

Julia was a homemaker. She was best known for her cooking, baking and canning, as well as being a loving mother, grandmother and wife. Her world revolved around her children and grandchildren and she enjoyed family gatherings.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Perry Smith; her parents; one daughter, Patricia Ann Smith; three brothers; and one sister.

Survivors include two sons, Jerry Smith of Bentonville and Billy Ray Smith and wife Mary of Lowell; one daughter, Betty Fagan of Parkville, Mo.; one sister, Mary Abel of Independence, Mo.; 13 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Thursday, Jan. 31, 2019, at 1 p.m. at Sisco Funeral Chapel with Pastor Lynn Crawford officiating. Burial will follow in Morriss Cemetery in Hindsville. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
