A sad accident occured yesterday afternoon at the farm of C. L. Jones on Flint Creek when the nine year old son, Gerald, was shot by his grandfather, James Jones, age 77 years. The aged gentleman was out setting traps with the boys when Gerald discovered a rabbit and called upon his grandfather to shoot it. The boy was running toward the rabbit and just as the old man pulled the trigger to fire the little fellow ran in front of it. The shot killed him instantly. The whole family is grief stricken over the unfortunate affair. The boy was a favorite of the old man and he is almost hysterical over the sad accident. The sympathies of the neighborhood are with the family in their bereavement.
