ROBERTS, Narcissa NAYLOR - Mrs. W.C. Roberts died Friday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock at the home, corner of Walnut and Fifth streets, after an illness of only a week. So brief was her illness that only the most intimate friends and neighbors knew that she was in a serious condition and the news of her death was a shock to most of our people. A cold that developed into pneumonia was the immediate cause of her death. Funeral services were held at the home Sunday afternoon and were conducted by Rev. H.R. Osborne, pastor of the First M.E. church. Burial was in the Rogers cemetery by the side of her mother, Mrs. Naylor, who died four years ago at the age of 91 years. Mrs. Roberts was 68 years, six months and 18 days old. Mrs. Narcissa Roberts was a native of Indiana and the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. R.F. Naylor. She lived a short time in Pittsburgh, Penn. before coming to Arkansas with her parents. At the time of her marriage to W.C. Roberts in July 1873 her father was register of the land office at Dardanelle. They lived for several years at Fayetteville and then moved to Rogers when the town was first located. A little later they moved to Huntsville, Madison county, where they lived for thirteen years. The family moved to Rogers some twenty years ago where they have since made their home. Mrs. Roberts is survived by her husband and four children: Virgil Roberts; Mrs. Dan Cowling of Rogers; Chas. Roberts of Little Rock and Miss Ethel Roberts of Rogers.
