ROBERTS, Nannie D. - Miss Nannie D. Roberts, whose obituary I am called upon to write, was born in Greene county, near the city of Springfield, Mo. in the 1868. While yet a little child her parents removed with her to Bentonville, Ark. where she has ever since resided. Early in life she obeyed the Gospel under the preaching of Eld. S.R. Beaman; has ever since been a member of the Christian church and until her afflictions compelled her to remain indoors she was a regular attendant upon the duties and privileges of the sanctuary. But some four years ago the hand of affliction was laid heavily upon her and during the greater portion of that time, she, who aforetime was ever ready to minister to others, was forced to become a fragile house-plant, to be tenderly cared for by mother and sisters. Her disease pronounced by her physician, spinal affection and rheumatism, caused her intense suffering, yet her cheerful disposition and the grace of a loving Heavenly Father supported her through it all. On the morning of December 2, 1895, in the twilight of the old year, the spirit of this poor, patient, suffering girl took its flight to the God who gave it, and on the morning of the day following we laid her body to rest beside that of her dear old father, who fell asleep some eight years ago. "Uncle John."

Died, at her mother's residence in this city at 5 o'clock Monday morning, Miss Nannie Roberts, in her 26th year. Funeral services were held at the Christian church Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock and interment followed at the Odd Fellows' cemetery. The deceased was a devout christian and a member of the Christian church. For two years she had been afflicted and bore it with patience and resignation and has now gone to her just reward. We extend sympathy to the bereaved family in their sorrow.
