Evelyn Phillips, 90, of Tahlequah died Monday, April 1, in Tahlequah City Hospital.

Born June 10, 1900 in Rogers to Samuel H. and Georgeann McFarland, she studied at Bible Baptist Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas, where she lived for 32 years. She worked for social services in nursing homes and hospitals as a practical nurse. She moved to Bentonville in 1950 where she was a Sunday school teacher and a member of First Baptist Church, D.A.R. and Eastern Star. She moved to Tahlequah in 1986 and was a member of Grace Baptist Church.

She was married to Marcus Phillips in 1922. He preceded her in death in 1983. One son, Bill Phillips, four sisters and six brothers also preceded her.

Survivors include two sisters, Crystal Enz of Alhambra, Calif. and Moah Holman of Cassville, Mo.; three granddaughters, Leanna Moser, Terry Bland, and Leslie East, all of Rogers; a grandson, Billy Phillips of Fort Lewis, Washington, and seven great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 10 a.m. in Go Ye Village Chapel with the Rev. Robert Page officiating. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. in Bentonville Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home of Tahlequah. Viewing will be Thursday from 10 a.m. 8 p.m. at Hart Funeral Home and from 8 a.m. until service time Friday.
