WATTS, Okla. — Bessie Alma Phillips, 88, of Watts died March 11, 2002, at Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital. She was born Nov. 24, 1913, in Charleston, Okla., to Miles Virgil and Sarah Jane Dickinson Watkins. She was a homemaker and attended Moseley Baptist Church and was the church pianist for many years. She enjoyed music, crocheting, gardening and reading. Her husband, George Martin Phillips,
died in 1984.
Survivors include two daughters, Alma Lou Roberts and husband Richard of Tontitown and Darlene Myers and husband Bill of Colcord, Olka.; five grandchildren, Chris and Randy Beard, Brenda Logue, Darla Scism and Marty Nance; nine great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home in Siloam Springs with Tom Shaw officiating.
Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be grandsons Chris Beard, Randy Beard, Jeff Logue, Marty Nance, Jonathan Nance and Eric Scism.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. The family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m.
