PHILLIPS, Mary McPhaill - On October 29, 1914 the Heavenly Father called home Mrs. Mary McPhaill Phillips who had been a patient sufferer for many months. Mrs. Phillips was born near Maysville Feb. 17, 1834; she had lived in Maysville and Gravette most of her life; was married to P.N. Phillips Oct. 30, 1866. She accepted Christ as her Savior more than thirty-five years ago and united with the Cumberland Presbyterian church. She lived a life so pure, so good that she won the love of all who knew her. Ever ready and willing to help those in need, to nurse the sick and to comfort the sorrowing; she was a living example of a close follower of Christ. She leaves to mourn their loss three step children, Mrs. John Butler, Mrs. Dave Roseboro, and W.A. Phillips, to whom she was a devoted mother; several nieces and nephews who were left to her tender watchful care; two sisters, Mrs. Jennie Young of Gravette and Mrs. Jake Dobkins of Welsh, Okla., a brother in Washington, step-grand children and a host of friends. Funeral services were conducted at the residence here and at the cemetery at Maysville by Reverend G.A. Wilson.
