WM. A. PHILLIPS DIED AT MAYSVILLE

Wm. Allen Phillips was born June 3, 1854 and died Oct. 28, 1934, at the age of 80 years, four months and 25 days.

He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ples Phillips, pioneer settlers of the Maysville community, where he grew to manhood and he spent all of his life within a few miles of the old homestead, honored and loved by all who knew him.

On Jan. 22, 1879, he was married to Miss Lura Pace and for almost 56 years they spent together.

To them were born seven children; two sons preceded the father to the Great Beyond. There are left to mourn his loss with the mother, one son, Walter P. Phillips, and four daughters, Mrs. Pearl Smith, Mrs. Oma Harper of Gravette, and Mrs. Cora Locke of Pierce City, Mo., and Mrs. Minta Boren of Claremore, OK., and five grand children. Two sisters also survive, Mrs. Dave Roseborough of Gravette and Mrs. John Butler of Welch, Okla.

Mr. Phillips was converted and joined the Cumberland Presbyterian church when quite young man and while still quite young was made a Ruling Elder. For many years he was superintendent and teacher in the Sabbath School, but as his hearing became impaired he gradually gave up active church work, but never his love and interest in Christianity. - Contributed.
