SILOAM SPRINGS — Jean W. Brown, 81, of Siloam Springs died Nov. 10, 2008, at her home. She was born March 23, 1927, in Springdale to James Beakley and Julia Ethel Wiseman.
She attended the University of Arkansas and taught kindergarten in the Bentonville and Centerton school districts. She established the First Baptist Church kindergarten in Siloam Springs. She worked many years with her husband in the insurance business. She moved to Siloam Springs June 3, 1966, from Centerton. She was a member of Gideon's International Auxiliary and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary in Siloam Springs and Robinson Baptist Church. She married Charles Leslie Brown on May 25,1947.
Survivors include her husband, Charles of the home; two sons, James Leslie Brown and wife Salena of Lowell and Charles Eugene Brown and wife Lane of Birmingham, Ala.; her daughter, Lydia Jean Noll and husband Alan of Siloam Springs; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; her brother, Ernest Tye Wiseman of Seattle; her sister, Bobbie Kathryn Wiseman of Centerton.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs, online at www.wassonfuneralhome.com. The Rev. Wil Gardner and the Rev. Bruce Holland will officiate.
Visitation will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
