Funeral Services for Victims Scheduled

Funeral arrangements are being worked out today for four members of a Lowell family killed in a grinding three-car pileup Friday afternoon near McAlester, Okla., which left two others dead and seven hurt.

Members of the Rt. 1 Lowell, family who died are Wilburn Earl Nation, 37, Shelia Joan Nation, 29, her son, Michael Brown, 8, and Thelma Brown, 69. As of this morning, only Wilburn Earl Nation's funeral arrangements were complete.

Killed in the other two cars were UA member, Diana Wake, 19, West Helena, and Carl Raymond Anderson, 50, Arlington, Tex. Seven who were injured include Mitchell Nation, 4, Chriss Nation, 3, and their grandfather, Louis Brown, 74.

Born June 14, 1940, in Wellington, Tex., Wilburn Earl Nation was the son of Mr. and Mrs. W.M. Nation, Stephenville, Tex., member of Baptist Church, former Stephenville resident and was employed by Wal-Mart in Bentonville.

Survivors include one son, Chriss, 3, Cave Springs; one stepson, Mitchell Nation, 4, Cave Springs; his parents; one brother, Robert Nation, Amarillo, Tex., one sister, Mrs. Marie Jones, Stephenville.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday in (can't read) dens of Memory Cemetery under direction of Stephenville Funeral Home.

Mrs. Nation was born Nov. 15, 1946, in Monterey, Calif. She was the daughter of Hugh and Mary Ethel Copeland Scott, and was a member of First Baptist Church in Cave Springs.

Survivors include her father, Hugh Scott, Vinita, Okla., two sons, Mitchell Lewis Brown and Chriss Nation, both of the home; three brothers, Harold Dean Scott, Wichita, Kan., Leonard Dale Scott, Vinita, and Eddie Scott, Springdale.

Funeral arrangements are pending, and will be announced by Burns Funeral Home of Bentonville.

Michale Livingston Brown, 8, was born Aug. 29, 1969, in Camden, Ark. He was the son of Michael Lewis and Sheila Joan Scott Brown, and attended the Bentonville schools.

Survivors include two brothers, Mitchell Brown and Chriss Nation, both of the home.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete, and will be announced by Burns Funeral Home, Bentonville.

Mrs. Thelma Lee Brown, 69, was born in Rockdale, Tex., the daughter of Steve Eddy and Cathryn Moon Brown. She was a poultry farmer and member of First Baptist Church of Cave Springs.

(Can't read) and James Eddy Brown, Sarcoxie, Mo.; three daughters, Mrs. Alice Nadine Clark, Omaha, Neb., Mrs. Wilma Joyce Hillegert, Whittier, Calif., and Mrs. Alta Ruth Gregg, Fayetteville; one brother, Alvin A. Moon, Cleveland, Tex.; three sisters, Mrs Velma Nation, Stephenville, Mrs Gervis Scerrouse, Humble, Tex., and Mrs. Viola Jamison, Houston, Tex.; 18 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Burns Funeral Home, Bentonville

Triple Funeral Planned

Triple funeral services for Mrs. Thelma Lee Brown, 69, Mrs. Shelia Nation, 29, and Michael Livingston Brown, 8, victims of a three-car collision near McAlester, Okla., Sept. 30, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in First Baptist Church, Cave Springs, with the Rev. J.N. Farish officiating. Burial will be in Cave Springs Cemetery under the direction of Burns Funeral Home of Bentonville. Visitation hours are 5-8 p.m. today in the chapel at Burns.

Funeral services for Earl Nation, a fourth fatality in the traffic accident, were held at 3 p.m. today in Harvey Baptist Church, Stephenville, Tex., with the Rev. Baldridge officiating. Burial was in Erath Garden of Memory under the direction of Stephenville Funeral Home.
