GRAVETTE — John L. Brown, of Gravette, died March 29, 2005, in Troy, Ala. He was a Navy veteran and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in California. His interests included riding horses and traveling. He lived in Marianna, Fla, in the winters. He returned to Arkansas in 2003. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Connie Brown Stacey.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Virginia N. Brown of Gravette; two sons, Johnny Lee Brown and wife Sandy of Troy, Ala., and Dan Brown of Destin, Fla.; three sisters, Jerry Wagoner of Downey, Calif., Hester Silva of Sacramento, Calif., Lenora Peters of Rudy; one half sister, Atha Burkhart of Austin, Texas; seven grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Bella Vista Funeral Home with the Rev. Leon Gregory and the Rev. John Powell officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

GRAVETTE — Virginia Lee Brown of Gravette, Ark., passed away Thursday, Jan. 9, 2020, in Destin, Fla., of natural causes.

Mrs. Brown was a member of Heritage Baptist Church in Gravette, Ark. She loved spending time with her husband riding horses and traveling together. She was a school teacher and also worked beside her husband in their textile business up until their retirement.

They had summer homes in Marinna, Fla., and Murrieta, Calif. After the passing of her husband in March 2005, she remained in Gravette, Ark., and then spent two and a half years in Destin, Fla., at Somerby Assisting Living where she passed away.

Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, John L. Brown and daughter Connie L. Brown.

Mrs. Brown is survived by sons Johnny L. Brown and wife Sandy of Troy, Ala. and Dan M. Brown of Destin, Fla.; sister Verna Moore of Van Buren, Ark.; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 18 at Bethel Cemetery, Gravette. Mrs. Brown will be laid to rest at Bethel Cemetery beside her husband, south of Gravette, Ark. Arrangements are by Bella Vista Funeral Home & Crematory. Condolences may be expressed at www.funeralmation.com.
