BROWN, Sarah Vandover - Mrs. Sarah Brown departed this life at her home near Osage Mills, Benton county, Arkansas Dec. 17th, 1896 after a few days of patient suffering from pneumonia. She was born near Fair Dealing, Mo. in the year 1829 and died at the age of 67 years, leaving a husband and two children to mourn her departure. She was married to John Vandover on the 27th day of May 1845, from which union eight children were born, only two of whom now survive her and after her husband's death she was again married, to James I. Brown of Fair Dealing, Mo. Feb. 2nd, 1872, with whom she lived until her death. She professed faith in Christ at the age of 13 years and soon after united with the M.E. church, South. Her funeral was preached at Council Grove church on the day following her death in the presence of many sad hearted relatives and friends, after which her remains were laid in its last resting place in the Barron cemetery to await the final summons.
