BROWN, John H. - John H. Brown of Hiwasse, an old and respected citizen of Benton County, passed away at 6 o'clock Wednesday evening,
June 25th, 1930. Mr. Brown had been in poor health for some time and little hope had been entertained for his recovery "Doc," as he was familiarly called, was a general favorite with all and his presence will be decidedly missed. He was, at the time of his death, 74 years of age. Born in McMinnville, Tenn. he had been a resident of the community for many years. In early days he taught school and has served several terms as justice of the peace. To know him was to like him and his passing will be a sad loss to his friends. Funeral services were held Thursday at the Mount Pleasant cemetery.
