CLAREMORE, Okla. — Gracie Evelyn Nichols, 76, Claremore, Okla., passed way on Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2011, at Wood Manor, Claremore.
Mrs. Nichols was born March 2, 1934, in Eminence, Mo.; she was the daughter of Walter Lee Snell and Myrna Lenora (Young) Snell.
She was the widow of the late Curtis Eugene Nichols; whom she married on May 22, 1964 in Kansas City, Mo.
Gracie was a homemaker who enjoyed tea parties with the grandchildren, fishing, gardening, bird watching. Mrs Nichols had babysat for many families in the Siloam Springs area and was of the Assembly of God faith.

Survivors include: two sons, Gary and Gloria Ellis, Poteau, Okla., and Steve and Sherri Ellis, Neosho; a daughter, Susan and Cooper Sweet, Claremore; nine grandchildren, Angela, Eric, Josh, Jamie, Matt, Sasha, Christan, Vanessa, Zach; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Gracie was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis; her parents; three sisters; and one brother.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. today at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home.
Services for Mrs. Nichols will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Backstrom–Pyeatte Chapel. Burial will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery in Siloam Springs under the direction of Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home, Siloam Springs, Ark.
