NICHOLS, Claude - Claude Nichols died last Thursday of appendicitis at the old Nichols homestead near Hiwasse where he was born about 38 years ago.
Funeral services were held on Friday with burial in the Gamble cemetery west of Centerton. Besides his mother, Mrs. Allison Nichols, he is survived by three sisters - Mrs. J.H. Willey of Bentonville; Mrs. Robert Sooter of Hiwasse and Mrs. Ellen Burcham of Gravette.
The deceased was highly thought of by all who knew him and he leaves a host of friends to mourn his loss.

(from Hiwasse) Claude Nichols, who died Jan. 10th at the Elza Galyean home, had underwent an operation for appendicitis Jan. 6th. He was born and raised here and was aged 42 years. He is survived by his aged mother, Mrs. Laura Nichols, three sisters: Mrs. Robert Sooter, Mrs. Willie and Mrs. Ellen Burcham. Rev. Gift conducted the funeral and burial was in the Gamble cemetery.
