Friday, March 19, 1920
W. S. Nichols, of Hiwasse, passed away early Monday morning, at the age of sixty-eight years. Death was caused by pneumonia, following a severe case of influenza.
He leaves his wife, and nine children, all of whom live near Hiwasse, excepting Mrs. Bert Douglas, of Bentonville, and Mrs. Laura Ingersoll of Chanute, Kansas. Forty grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, also survive him.
A large number of old friends and relatives gathered at the Mt. Pleasant cemetery, Tuesday afternoon to pay their respects to their departed friend and neighbor. Rev. G. Lyle Smith of Bentonville, conducted the funeral services.
