B.C. Martin died at his home at Lowell Saturday, April 12 at the age of 77 years. He was born April 12, 1842; died on his 77th birthday. He was married to Miss Mary J. Hopkins August 7, 1862 in Franklin Co., Mo. He came to Benton Co., Ark. in 1870 and has lived in and around Lowell the past 49 years and was one of the best known men in that neighborhood and was called Uncle Ben by his friends and neighbors. All who knew him was his friend. He was of a pleasing disposition and always had a kind word for all he met. He had been a Notary in this county over 40 years. He leaves to mourn his departure from this life his aged wife, J.M. Martin and Mrs. John Robinson of Tahlequah, Okla., Mrs. Chas. Hunt of Springdale, Ark., Nick Martin of Rogers, J.R. Martin of Gravette and Mrs. Henry Leak of Christie, Okla. The Democrat extends its sympathy to the bereaved family.
