PEA RIDGE — Amanda Michelle Martin, age 23, of Pea Ridge, Ark. was taken home by her heavenly Father on Sunday, July 31. 2011. The sudden, tragic loss of Amanda in a motor vehicle accident ended a life with a bright future for one so young.
Amanda was born on Nov. 28, 1987, in Atlanta. Ga. She lived many places in her 23 years but spent most of that in Arkansas, eventually living in Pea Ridge to be closer to her mom, brother and grandparents. She also was her great-grandmother's caregiver for the last few years, juggling that with being a full-time college student.
Amanda was soft-spoken and enjoyed drawing, painting and playing games with family and friends. She shared her father's love of music and mother's artistic abilities where she found her niche as art major in college and consistently made honor roll. Amanda loved singing and, while very shy, didn't hesitate to sing karaoke in front of large crowds.
Amanda is survived by her parents, Debbie Martin of Bentonville, Ark., and John Martin of Chelsea, Ala.; her brother, Josh Martin of Bentonville; her grandparents, Jane Weiser of Pea Ridge and Joyce Martin of Bell, Fla.; and great-grandmother, Pauline Foster of Pea Ridge. She is further survived by many aunts, uncles, other relatives and many friends.
Amanda was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Gerald Weiser of Pea Ridge and Chap Martin of Bell, Fla.
Service is set for 10 a.m. today, Aug. 3, at Sisco Funeral Home Chapel in Pea Ridge. Burial will be at Pea Ridge Cemetery.
