*Obituary
Rogers Democrat
Thursday, December 12, 1918
MARTIN, Robert W. - Robert W. Martin, second son of Mr. and Mrs. J.H. Martin, was born June 20, 1892 at Elk Creek, Texas Co., Mo. and died at a hospital at Springfield where he had been for the last two weeks, at the age of 26 years, 5 months and 18 days. The remains were brought to Rogers and the funeral services were conducted by Rev. Mills, after which interment was made in Rogers cemetery. The deceased came to Rogers with his parents in 1910 where he made his home for two years and was in the employ of the Benton Co. Hdwe. Co. He then moved to Kansas City where he entered the employ of the Frisco. He was married Dec. 25, 1915 at Rogers to Miss Wlnnie Mahaney and to this union were born two children, Bernice and Bobby. Bob, as he was known to his friends, was an industrious young man and it is indeed sad to see one so young and with a most promising future taken out of life but thus it is forcibly shown to us that we do not understand God's plans. The many friends of both the departed and the loved ones he leaves behind extend sympathy.
