Emmero Chestene Owens Sherrell, daughter of the late Spellman Owens and Allie Virgie Robbins Owens, was born September 3, 1918 in Brockwell, Arkansas. She departed this life August 29, 2015 in Calico Rock, Arkansas at the age of 96 years, 11 months and 29 days. Emmero was united in marriage to Vearl Sherrell on September 12, 1942 in Melbourne, Arkansas and to this union one daughter was born. Emmero spent her life as a loving, daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, homemaker and friend. She enjoyed quilting, sewing and gardening. She was of the Church of Christ faith and a member of Brockwell Church of Christ.
She leaves to mourn her passing; one daughter and son-in-law: Louise and Jerry Jarman of Gassville; two granddaughters: Teresa Smith and husband Jemmy of Yellville and Jeri Hawkins and husband Jim of Franklin, Indiana; six grandchildren: Samantha Burke, Allison Dooley, Tiffany Jarman, Josh Price, Austin Price and Zachary Hawkins; three great great grandchildren: Jazlynn Dooley, Hunter Dooley, Kohlden Burke and a host of other relatives and many good friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers: Johnny Owens, Leo Owens, and Dean Owens and one sister: Eolia Yancey.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Howard Memorial Funeral Chapel in Melbourne with Chuck Crow officiating. Burial will be at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery under the direction of Eddie’s Family Funeral Home in Melbourne. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 1 from 6-8 p.m. at Eddie’s Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.
Pallbearers: Alan Sherrell, Alan Estes, Max Williams, Randy Sherrell, Ronnie Guthrie and Timmy Sherrell.
Honorary Pallbearers: Zachary Hawkins, Josh Price, Austin Price, Charles Sherrell and Billy Hellums.
