Vearl Elestic Sherrell son of the late William Robert and Ollie Myrtle McCurley Sherrell was born October 19, 1921 in Brockwell. He died February 28, 2001 in Calico Rock. He was 79.
Mr. Sherrell was united in marriage to Emmero Chestene Owens September 12, 1942 in Melbourne. To this union, one daughter was born. He spent his life working at various jobs in the area. He was a farmer, worked in a sawmill, logged and worked at the flooring mill. He was a member of the Brockwell Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Emmero of Calico Rock; one daughter and son-in-law, Louise and Jerry Jarman of Gassville; one sister, Armelda Everett of Oxford; six brothers, Hearl Sherrell of Oxford; Cecil Sherrell of Brockwell; Dale Sherrell of Oxford; Darrell Sherrell of Oxford; Harlen Sherrell of Long Lane, Missouri and Shelby Sherrell of Myron; two granddaughters, Teresa Price and Jeri Hawkins both of Mountain Home; six great-grandchildren, Samantha, Allison, Josh, Austin, Tiffany and Zachary and a host of other relatives and friends. Veral was preceded in death by one sister, Oma Robbins of Wenatchee, Washington and one brother, Loyd Sherrell.
Funeral services were held March 3, 2001 at the Roman and Billy Howard Memorial Chapel in Melbourne, with Chuck Crow and John Thomas officiating. Pallbearers were Allen Sherrell Randy Sherrell, Alan Estes, Brent Barnes, Timmy Sherrell and Ronnie Guthrie. Honorary pallbearers were Charles Sherrell, LaVern Garner, John Thomas, Max Williams and Billy Hellums.

Emmero Chestene Owens Sherrell, daughter of the late Spellman Owens and Allie Virgie Robbins Owens, was born September 3, 1918 in Brockwell, Arkansas. She departed this life August 29, 2015 in Calico Rock, Arkansas at the age of 96 years, 11 months and 29 days. Emmero was united in marriage to Vearl Sherrell on September 12, 1942 in Melbourne, Arkansas and to this union one daughter was born. Emmero spent her life as a loving, daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, homemaker and friend. She enjoyed quilting, sewing and gardening. She was of the Church of Christ faith and a member of Brockwell Church of Christ.
She leaves to mourn her passing; one daughter and son-in-law: Louise and Jerry Jarman of Gassville; two granddaughters: Teresa Smith and husband Jemmy of Yellville and Jeri Hawkins and husband Jim of Franklin, Indiana; six grandchildren: Samantha Burke, Allison Dooley, Tiffany Jarman, Josh Price, Austin Price and Zachary Hawkins; three great great grandchildren: Jazlynn Dooley, Hunter Dooley, Kohlden Burke and a host of other relatives and many good friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers: Johnny Owens, Leo Owens, and Dean Owens and one sister: Eolia Yancey.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Howard Memorial Funeral Chapel in Melbourne with Chuck Crow officiating. Burial will be at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery under the direction of Eddie’s Family Funeral Home in Melbourne. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 1 from 6-8 p.m. at Eddie’s Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.
Pallbearers: Alan Sherrell, Alan Estes, Max Williams, Randy Sherrell, Ronnie Guthrie and Timmy Sherrell.
Honorary Pallbearers: Zachary Hawkins, Josh Price, Austin Price, Charles Sherrell and Billy Hellums.
