Lillie Mae Floyd Sherrell, daughter of the late Grady Floyd and Minnie Novella Sherrill Floyd, was born August 15, 1932 in Brockwell, Arkansas. She departed this life January 8, 2015 at her home in Oxford, Arkansas at the age of 82 years, 4 months and 24 days. She was united in marriage to Dale Sherrell on May 12, 1951 and to this union six children were born. She spent her life as a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, homemaker and friend.
She is survived by two sons and two daughters-in-law: Alan and Sarah Sherrell of Oxford and Timmy and Shirley Sherrell of Calico Rock; four daughters and four sons-in-law: Judy and James Crafton of Cave City, Lorraine and Don Johnson of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, Karen and Dan Stevenson of Batesville and Lesha and Frank Hursh of Mammoth Spring; her twin sister: Gaye McCollum of Salem; twelve grandchildren: Jimmy Crafton, Aaron Crafton, Mandy Lawrence, Missy McBride, Kimberly Johnson, Bradley Johnson, Misty Jeffrey, Marty Stevenson, Chad Taylor, Crystal Taylor, Justin Sherrell and Preston Sherrell; seventeen great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and many good friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers: James Floyd and Junior Floyd and one sister: Faye Wayland.
Graveside funeral service will be Saturday, January 10 at 10:00 a.m. at Oxford Cemetery under the direction of Eddie’s Family Funeral Home in Melbourne with Steve Stevenson officiating.
Pallbearers: Jimmy Crafton, Aaron Crafton, Brad Johnson, Chad Taylor, Marty Stevenson, Justin Sherrell and Preston Sherrell.
