NEVADA, Mo. — David Layne Wilson, 40, of Nevada died July 18, 2000, at St. John's Hospital in Joplin, Mo. He was born Dec. 30, 1959, in West Covina. Calif., to William George and Kathryn Wilson. He was a former manager of Mazzio's Pizza and a former employee of the Nevada Country Club. He was a member of the Nevada Community Choir, the Buchwacker Days Festival committee and was a volunteer for the Red Cross and the community-outreach program in Nevada. He attended the First Baptist Church in Nevada and Springdale. He was a graduate of Springdale High School, a University of Arkansas alumnus and a former member of the UA band. He was a former resident of Tontitown.

Survivors include his father of Pallasee, Ala.; his mother of Tontitown; two brothers, George Russell Wilson of Fayetteville and Michael Scott Wilson of Anchorage, Alaska; two sisters, Linda Parker of Tontitown and Rebecca Wilson of Springdale; maternal grandmother, Anna Louise Willey of Rogers.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Wilson Cemetery with the Rev. Todd White officiating.

Memorials may be made to the Diabetes Association.

Arrangements are by Burns Funeral Home in Rogers.
