WILSON, George - George Wilson died Saturday evening at his home in this city on North Seventh street after an illness of some duration. He had been in poor health for several years. Funeral services were held at the home Monday morning at 10:00 o'clock and were conducted by Rev. John A. Womack, pastor of the Central Methodist church. Burial was in the city cemetery. Mr. Wilson was born in Washington county 76 years ago and his life was spent in Washington and Benton counties, most of the time on a farm. The Wilson family was one of the pioneer families of Northwest Arkansas and the members have taken a leading part in its advancement and progress and have ever been classed among its best citizens. He is survived by a wife, four daughters, Mrs. W.T. Barry, wife of District Highway Engineer W.T. Barry, Fort Smith; Miss Nell Wilson, Little Rock; Mrs. O.C. Blackford, Walnut Ridge and Mrs. Joe Bennett of Oilton, Okla.; a son, Oliver Wilson of Hobart, Okla.; two brothers, Senator R.J. Wilson and J.B. Wilson of Fayetteville; a half brother, Hugh Wilson, and a half sister, Mrs. Ralph Jones of Fayetteville, and a number of nephews and nieces, one of whom is Allan Wilson, mayor of Fayetteville.
