MRS. CARRIE R. CLARK DIED TUESDAY IN ROGERS

Mrs. Carrie Robinson Clark, a former resident of Bentonville, died at her home in Rogers about one o’clock Tuesday morning, following a long illness. She was 77 years of age, 60 of these having been spent in Benton County.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the M.E. Church, South in Bentonville, the Rev. R.S. Hayden conducting the services. She was buried beside her husband, O.P. Clark in the Bentonville cemetery.

Mrs. Clark, the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. C.M. Robinson, was born in Laclede, Mo., July 6, 1860. Her parents moved to Bentonville in 1874. Dr. Robinson for several years had a government contract to carry the email from Bentonville to Avoca also from Bentonville to Neosho. These were in the stage coach days. Four horses were used on his stages.

In 1881 she was married to Oscar Clark, member of a prominent family and son of James Clark who built the Eagle hotel here. He died in 1928. The family moved to Rogers in 1906, which place has since been their home.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Beryl Clark of Rogers and Mrs. J.M. Traylor of Sapulpa, Okla., brother, C.M. Robinson of Pawhuska, Okla. and by three sisters, Mrs. W.H. Cowan and Mrs. Frances Robinson of Rogers and Mrs. A.M. Hurley of Tulsa.
