CLARK, Arthur Eugene - Arthur Eugene Clark was born in Bentonville, Ark. forty years ago. He died at the home of his father, Mr. W.R. Clark, on Christmas day 1911. He spent nearly all of his life in Bentonville. Four years he was in Oklahoma and one year he lived in Springdale, Ark. All the rest of his life was lived here. He was married June 6th, 1897 to Miss Georgia Rife, who survives him. To them were born four children, the oldest dying in infancy. The other three bright children are left with their mother. He was a jeweler by trade but failing health had compelled him some time ago to give up this trade and seek an outdoor life. For some time he held a position as traveling salesman however for several months he had been at home. He was converted in childhood and joined the M.E. Church, South. He maintained his reverence for the church to the end of his life. He was taken sick during the first days of November. It was thought for some time then that he could not live. But he got better and for some time before his death he was up going about in the house. He seemed about as well as usual all Christmas day. Late in the afternoon he was taken with a severe hemorrhage and died in a few minutes. He had many friends here who regret his passing away. In his home where he was kind and affectionate are sad hearts broken because son, husband and father has gone. May God bless these dear ones and give them His blessing. He was buried December 27th. The funeral services were conducted by the writer at his father's home where he died. His body was laid away in the City Cemetery. C.W. Lester.
