LOCATION: Ward Family Cemetery is located northeast of Salesville. At the intersection of SR5 and SR177 in Salesville take SR177 northeast 1 mile to River Acres Drive. This is also the road leading to Gene’s trout Dock resort. Travel southeast about 700’ on River Acres Drive and you will see a white 2” PVC pipe buried in the ground on the right side of the road. This pipe was installed during the Archeological clearance for the Salesville sewer project and marks the location of the Ward Family Cemetery. The gravestone are located 10’ off the road on the right side of the road in a very wooded overgrown area
INFORMATION: Baxter County Historical Society in their 1994 book “Of Grave Importance” as an additional information for the (Old) Conelly Cemetery listing: One of the graves is identifiable by name and age chiseled into the stone. The other grave is that of an infant, and from older people’s memory in the area, the lady died in childbirth. The stone is very old.
