DECATUR — Orvil Earnest Patterson, 96, of Decatur died Dec. 28, 1999, at Siloam Springs. He was born Jan. 6, 1903, near Decatur to Rector and Minnie Taylor Patterson.

He was a longtime resident of Decatur and a farmer. He was a member of Falling Springs Church.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Marie Dill Patterson of the home, to whom he was married Feb. 14, 1930; two sons, Orval Patterson Jr. of Tulsa, Okla., and Darl Patterson of Siloam Springs; two daughters, Elba Joan Meek of Decatur and Carroll Underdown of Gentry; 16 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; six sisters, Goldie Johnson of Wichita, Kan., Lena Mays of Joplin, Mo., Virginia Hofer and Ella Lee Hizar, both of Pittsburg, Kan., Juanita Johnson of Bartlesville, Okla., and Mary L. Pope of Pleasant Hills, Calif.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Falling Springs Church near Decatur with the Rev. Jack Austin officiating. Burial will be in Falling Springs Cemetery under the direction of Wasson Funeral Home of Siloam Springs.

DECATUR— Dorothy "Marie" Patterson, 92, of Decatur died Feb. 12, 2006, at Siloam Springs Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Siloam Springs. She was born Oct. 3, 1913, in Locust Grove, Okla., to Jasper and Cecil Ownby Dill.

She lived most of her life in the Decatur and Falling Springs area, where she was a longtime cook at the Patio Cafe. She enjoyed fishing and gardening. She was a member of Falling Springs Church near Decatur. She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Orval Patterson; two grandchildren, Johnny Trammell and Linda Wilkerson; and two great-grandchildren, Cody Meek and Chastity Willis.

Survivors include two sons, Orval Patterson Jr. and wife Ruby of Tulsa, Okla., and Darl Patterson and wife Maudine of Siloam Springs; two daughters, Joan Meek and husband Bob of Decatur, and Carroll Underdown and husband Roger of Gentry; five sisters, Alice Guss, Frances Peterson and Mona Goldman, all of Decatur, Jewell Lashmett of Lusk, Wyo., and Donnie Windmiller of Sacramento, Calif; 15 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and 19 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Falling Springs
Church near Decatur, with Larry Ellis officiating. Burial will follow in Falling Springs Cemetery, online at www.wassonfuneralhome.com.
