Amzi C. Patterson died this morning at his home on West Walnut street at 11 o'clock at the age of 55 years, 8 months and 6 days after an illness that has lasted for many months. Mr. Patterson was one of the oldest settlers of Benton county. He was born near Pea Ridge August 21, 1872 and had lived near Pea Ridge and Rogers all of his life. He was married to Miss Mary Frances Rich in 1894 and to this union three children were born, two of whom now survive him, Clint, age 18, and Georgia, age 15. Mr. Patterson was engaged in the fruit business in this county for a number of years and after moving to Rogers held the office of night watchman for this city. He was until a few years ago owner and manager of the Rogers Tire and Battery Shop. He was the owner of several farms and business houses in and near Rogers. Besides his widow and two children he leaves his father, R.H. Patterson of Pea Ridge; two sisters, Mrs. J.S. Thompson of Gravette and Mrs. George Prophet of Pea Ridge; six brothers, J.F. Patterson, Rogers and W.T. Patterson, R.B. Patterson, H.J. Patterson, E.P. Patterson and C.F. Patterson, all of Pea Ridge. Funeral services will be conducted from the First Baptist Church Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock with interment in the Rogers cemetery.

PATTERSON, Amzi C. - Amzi C. Patterson, 56 years old, died at his home on West Walnut Street in Rogers last Friday morning after a long illness. Funeral services were held at the Baptist Church Saturday afternoon with burial in the Rogers cemetery. Amzi Patterson was one of seven brothers, all of whom were born at Pea Ridge, Ark. and who have been among the prominent builders of Northwest Arkansas. Their father, A.H. Patterson, was one of the first settlers of this section of the county and is still living. Amzi is the second son. Besides his father and his wife and two children, Clint and Georgia, he is survived by six brothers: W.T. Patterson, R.B. Patterson, H.J. Patterson, S.P. Patterson, C.F. Patterson, all of whom live on Pea Ridge, and Frank Patterson of Rogers, vice president of the Farmers' Trust Company, and by two sisters: Bessie Prophet of Pea Ridge and Mrs. Ada Thompson of Gravette. A large number of nieces and nephews also survive him, one of whom is Miss Eva Patterson of Rogers, secretary of the Farmers' Trust Company. Mr. Patterson has been a director in the First National Bank of Rogers for more than 20 years, during which time he has dealt in farm land and has owned a number of farms in the county. He has raised both fruit and stock and operated a tire and battery shop in Rogers until he retired from active work about two years ago.

Amzi C. Patterson, a native son of Benton county, was buried Saturday afternoon following services held at the First Baptist church in Rogers. He had been ill for the past four months and gradually grew worse until the end came Saturday. Mr. Patterson was born on Pea Ridge in 1872 and had spent practically his whole life on Pea Ridge and in Rogers. He was very well known in eastern Benton county. Besides his widow he is survived by one son, Clinton, and one daughter, Georgia Patterson. Also by his father, R.H. Patterson of Pea Ridge and by two sisters, Mrs. J.S. Thompson of Gravette and Mrs. George Prophet of Pea Ridge, and six brothers: J.F. Patterson, Rogers; W.T. Patterson, R.B. Patterson, H.J. Patterson, E.P. Patterson and C.F. Patterson, all of Pea Ridge.
