BENTONVILLE — Odein Patterson, 106, of Bentonville died Aug. 7, 2007, at Bella Vista. She was born Oct. 24, 1901, in Slate Springs, Miss., to Calvin and Addie Parker Doolittle. She was a homemaker and a former cashier for the Bentonville schools for more than 11 years. She retired at age 74. She was a graduate of Mississippi Women's College in Hattiesburg, Miss. She was formerly of Oklahoma City for 17 years, moving to Paris in 1939, then Bentonville, then to Siloam Springs before returning to Bentonville. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bentonville, where she played the piano. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Patterson, in 1954 and one son, Wayne Patterson, in 1996.
Survivors include one daughter, Betty Jo Burnett of Oklahoma City; four grandchildren, Sylvia Patterson of Norman, Okla., Charles Patterson of Lake Monroe, Fla., Bonnie Juarez of El Paso, Texas, and Sherry Scott of Albuquerque, N.M.; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church in Bentonville with Phillip Smith and Tom Smith officiating. Burial will be in Bentonville Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, Bentonville.
