SILOAM SPRINGS — Marion Frances Austin, 83, of Siloam Springs died Sept. 27, 2006, at her home. She was born Dec. 8, 1922, in Bogard, Mo., to Aubyn and Mary Ella Smith Carter. She was a former bookkeeper for T.H. Rogers Lumber Co. in Siloam Springs. She was a member of Harvard Avenue Baptist Church in Siloam Springs and was instrumental in starting the Just Older Youth Club. She was active in the Women's Missionary Union. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Austin.

Survivors include two sons, Don Austin of Siloam Springs and John Austin and wife Janet of Fort Madison, Iowa; three grandchildren, Jonathan and Jason Austin and Kirsten Kelly; one great-grandchild, Katie Kelly; two sisters, Mary Lou Lewis of Topeka, Kan., and Nona Toy of Mount Vernon, Mo.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Harvard Avenue Baptist Church with Tad Thompson and Dan Crenshaw officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs.

SILOAM SPRINGS — Ralph Earl Austin, 82, of Siloam Springs died June 20, 2006, at Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital. He was born Nov. 11, 1923, in Rothville, Mo., to Cecil John and Agnes Grace Semple Austin. He married Marion Frances Carter, on Dec. 24, 1942. He was retired from Gates Rubber Co. and was a member of the Harvard Avenue Baptist Church, where he saved as head usher and was active in the JOY group.

He was ordained as a deacon in 1966. He was also a member of the Junior Chamber of Commerce, the Lions Club, the American Legion and was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, serving with the 8th Air Force. He flew 37 missions.

Survivors include his wife, Marion F. Austin of Siloam Springs; two sons, Don Austin of Siloam Springs and John Austin and wife Janet of Fort Madison, Iowa; one sister, Dorotha Smith of Mendon, Mo.; three grandchildren, Jonathan and Jason Austin of Denver, and Kirsten Kelly of Peoria, Ill.; one great-granddaughter, Katie Kelly of Peoria.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home in Siloam Springs, with Tad Thompson, Rick Gearing and Larry Smith officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
