ROGERS — Elmer Richard "Bill" Austin, 85, died Feb. 27, 2002. He was born Aug. 4, 1916, in Eureka, Okla., to Rolla and Bertha Mildred Brown Austin. His work experience varied, including breaking horses as a young man to becoming a quality-production inspector.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Nadine Barrett Austin of Rogers, to whom he was married Nov. 27, 1937; two sons, E. Richard Austin Jr. and wife Kathy of Portales, N.M., and R. Gene Austin and wife Bette of Salt Lake City, Utah: six daughters, Betty L. Giesen of Caldwell, Idaho, Lois N. Bennett and husband Tom of Oxford, M. Eileen Cox and husband Floyd of Bonham, Texas, Dorothy M. Simpson and Mary K. Lockner and husband Andy, all of Fort Collins, Colo., and Wanda June Townzen and husband Lonnie of Rogers: one sister, Virgie Fisher of Porterville, Calif.; 28 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers, Jeff Simpson and Andrew Carrington will officiate.
Burial will be in Rogers Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

ROGERS — Martha Nadine Barrett Austin, 80, of Rogers died April 9, 2002, at Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born Feb. 4, 1922, in Strang, Okla., to Jesse Wesley and Harriet Elizabeth Killion Barrett. She was a homemaker. Her husband, Elmer Richard "Bill" Austin, died in February 2002.
Survivors include two sons, Elmer Richard Austin Jr. and wife Kathy of Portales, N.M., and Rolla Eugene Austin and wife Bette of Salt Lake City, Utah; six daughters, Betty Giesen of Caldwell, Idaho, Lois Bennett and husband Tom of Oxford, Eileen Cox and husband Floyd of Trenton, Texas, Dorothy Simpson of Fort Collins, Colo., Mary Lockner and husband Andy of Fort Collins and Wanda June Townzen and husband Lonnie of Bentonville; one sister, Mildred Ivey Smith of Stark City, Mo.; 29 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers with Jeffrey Simpson officiating. Visitation will be from noon until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
