AUSTIN, Willis H. - {from Gravette} Willis H. Austin, one of Gravette's most prosperous and prominent farmers and fruit men who died last week, will be missed from the business circles of this section. At the time of his death he was a director and stock holder of the First National Bank. Mr. Austin was 57 years of age, born in New Bedford county, Tenn. on March 20, 1850. He moved here when but a child and has lived in the same neighborhood where his father located ever since. He was married to Miss Martha Sooter and to the union were born seven children, three boys, Silas of Grangeville, Idaho; Alfred and Judge; four girls, Mrs. Walter Heaslett of Bentonville and Misses Della, Eva and Verdie. Mr. Austin had recently bought property in town and planned to move here about the time he was taken sick, to school his younger children. Besides his family he leaves one brother, Joseph, and one sister, Mrs. Elbert Galyean. Rev. Wm. Edwards conducted the funeral at the home and burial followed at Bethel Cemetery.

AUSTIN, Martha - Mrs. Martha Austin, widow of the late Willis Austin, early residents of the Gravette community, passed away Friday in Picher, Okla. at the age of 76 years. The body was returned to Gravette where burial was made Saturday in Bethel cemetery, the service being conducted by the Rev. Mr. Phillips of Westville. Mrs. Austin is survived by three sons and three daughters: Alfred Austin of Maysville; J.B. Austin of Chular, Calif.; Silas Austin of Miami, Okla.; Mrs. Walter Heaslet of Miami; Mrs. Bird Snapp of Kansas City and Mrs. Lloyd White of California.
