Born March 30, 1931, Pineville, Izard County, Arkansas.
Died September 30, 2001, Dolph, Izard County, Arkansas.
Son of Christopher Columbus Sanders & Iva Nora Porterfield Sanders.
The White River Currant, Calico Rock, Arkansas, October 4, 2001:
Oral Thomas Sanders, son of the late Christopher Columbus Sanders and Iva Nora Porterfield Sanders was born March 30, 1931 in Pineville. He died September 30, 2001 at his home in Dolph. He was 70.
He was a self employed farmer and was a member of the Dolph Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sisters, Mabel Stone and Eunice Rhine both of Dolph and several nieces and nephews and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Edgar Sanders, James Sanders, Melvin Sanders and Alven Sanders.
Funeral services were held October 3, 2001 at Howard Funeral Home Chapel in Calico Rock with Brother Dale Chapman officiating.
Interment was at Wises Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Howard Funeral Home in Calico Rock.
Note: His first name is spelled Orel on his regular headstone; however, it is spelled Oral on his military gravestone, in his obituary, and in the Social Security Death Index.
