Melvin Columbus Sanders of Dolph, Arkansas son of the late Christopher Columbus and Iva Nora (Porterfield) Sanders was born Sep. 21, 1932 at Wild Cherry, Arkansas. He died Sunday, Dec 11, 1994 at Ozark Medical Center in West Plains, Missouri, at the age of 62 years.

Mr. Sanders was united in marriage to Lula Mae Green on May 24, 1954 at Calico Rock and to this union two children were born. Mr. Sanders worked as a self-employed machine operator and was a member of Dolph Baptist Church.

Mr. Sanders is survived by his wife, Lula Mae of the home; one daughter, Janice Marie Freeman of Dolph; one son Gary Lee Sanders of Calico Rock; two sisters, Mabel Stone and Eunice Rhine both of Dolph; one brother, Oral Sanders of Dolph; and one grandson, Christopher Gary Sanders. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Edgar, James and Alvin.
