Elisha Smothers, aged 95, old time pioneer of Baxter County, died Tuesday morning at 6 o'clock. He has lived in this county for more than 75 years, coming here when a boy from Tennessee.

With the passing on of Elisa Smothers, 95 years of age, at his home near Buford, Tuesday this week the oldest pioneer resident of Baxter County --------------
Mr. Smothers came here form Tennessee more than 75 years ago and settled in the neighborhood where he lived until death. He was widely know by the older residents but was out of touch with the newer element.
