Funeral services for John Smothers, 80, who died Wednesday in a Kansas City, KS, hospital, were held at the Fairview Church Friday with the Rev. Claude Crigler officiating. Burial was in the Fairview Cemetery, with the Roller Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Smothers was born in Baxter County in 1871. He had lived in Kansas City for the past Three years.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Josephine Thomas of Comis, MI, Monroe of Kansas City, and Mrs. Blanche Carver of Long Beach, CA; two sons, Roy and Howard, both of Kansas City, KS.
