Norfork, Nov. 22 Lee M. Lackey a well known citizen of this place who went to Spulpa, Oklahoma recently to visit his brother was taken suddenly ill and died at that place the first of the week. Attorney Lackey has been a prominent citizen of this place for several years and a practicing attorney for quite a while. He made the race for repersentative of this county at the last primary but was defeated by Mr. Kendrick of Cotter. His remains arrived today and will be buried in the cemetery at this place.
(Note the gravestone shows a death date of 1917 as does information in the genealogy of the Lackey family; however, the November 24, 1916, issue of The Cotter Courier, Cotter, Arkansas, had a story about his death in Oklahoma "the first of the week." As a result, it becmes apparent that he died in November 1916 instead of 1917.
